Wednesday, November 17th - Winter Acoustic Showcase Giveaway

We will be giving away acoustic opening spots for Turnpike Troubadours, Johnathan Tyler and the Northern Lights and Johnny Cooper/ Brazos Stone. We are excited to showcase North Texas artists.

9:30p.m. to 12:30a.m.

Friday, November 19th - Turnpike Troubadours, Tyler Rushing Band opening

The Turnpike Troubadours

The Turnpike Troubadours, whose name is derived from the bumpy Oklahoma toll-roads and their hard lived folk singing heroes, are proof that isolation can be the mother of originality. Cutting its teeth in roadside dancehalls and honky-tonks has made a serious impact on the band’s musical style, which walks the proverbial line between Woody Guthrie and Waylon Jennings. “Bossier City,” the band’s debut album, is a testament to the small towns in which they were raised. It combines Folk, Country, Cajun, and Bluegrass with stories of longing, humor, tragedy, and overall life in rural America. Their live show reflects years of coercing beer joint crowds into responding to unfamiliar music. It is fast, gritty, and often drenched in beer, but always a good time. The Turnpike Troubadours continually gather ground both literally and figuratively as they share the stage with many prestigious acts in all genres. Currently the band is working on its follow up album with veteran producer and songwriter Mike McClure as well as relentlessly playing shows in Texas and Oklahoma.

Tyler Rushing Band

The Tyler Rushing Band can best be classified as a Texas Country/Red Dirt band. Their music influences range across many different styles and era’s of music such as, country, southern rock, and blues. The band was formed in early March of 2010 in Wichita Falls by sheer coincidence and pure luck. Matt Rose(drums), Kane Eavenson(bass/vocals) and Landon Studer(lead guitar), former five year members of the local band The Moonshine Monkeys, joined Tyler Rushing(lead singer/acoustic guitar) who had been playing and performing solo for number of years. Individually, the band members had all been gaining experience in writing, performing and recording music. When the band members joined forces, they had a solid amount of both original and cover material that very quickly made The Tyler Rushing Band “show ready” in a short amount of time. The Tyler Rushing Band brings a fresh look and new experience to the Texas music scene with both their music and performance. Having fun both on and off stage makes for a great time and a great show for the band as well as the crowd.

Ponderosa

“Ponderosa naturally carries the type of swagger that most bands spend years rehearsing. Their catalog of campfire songs, southern rock anthems, and drunken, two-step shuffles has won the admiration of listeners—and the envy of musicians—throughout the Southeast Region. Featuring former members of The Butch Walker Band, Sovus Radio and Variac, Ponderosa’s rhythm section has the chops to craft timeless, impeccable songs. Singer Kalen Nash’s voice has often been described as “golden,” though this gold is equal parts honey and whiskey. The group’s three-part harmonies, jaw-dropping performances, and rock-and-roll lifestyle make them truly peerless, which is why Ponderosa is already a favorite among industry professionals..” -William Cane (Performer Magazine)

If you haven’t heard the name yet, it’ll only be in due time. The Kris Lager Band is an original, high energy, midwestern, rootsrock, blues-based band that is solely dedicated to playing passionate, heartfelt music.
We started as a Craigslist band, but we have morphed into something fun and awesome. Bryan and Gellert are on guitars (G also plays the keys), Dennis is our bad ass drummer, Phil (aka, Philicious) is the man without a mistake bassist, and then there’s Jac the vocalist and leading lady among the men. We are all very different people, but know how to jam.

Saturday, November 6th - Ember, The Minor Prophets opening

Ember

In the beginning… There was Ember

A group of professional musicians who sought to bring a message to the people… A message of faith, a message of hope, and above all a message of love. It started in a radio studio in West Texas that led them to write and play “user friendly” music. Ember has recorded with some of the best. “Take Everything” – Todd and Toby Pipes (Drowning pool) “Under Pressure” – Sylvia Massey Shivy (Tool, Deftones, Powerman 5000) “Embrace” – Ken Mary. Ember’s music has opened doors all over the world for them to perform their highly produced show including a visual and aural experience not many can forget. As one industry professional put it.. “If you haven’t seen Ember… you will.” There aren’t many places these Austin Texas boys are afraid to go. Within’ the past year Ember has been to Germany, California, Greece, Arizona, Spain, and New York.. Just to name a few. They have shared the stage with Hinder, Blue October, Theory of a Deadman, and a whole list of bands you’d recognize from the radio. Chances are you’ve heard Ember on the radio as their most recent release “The Deep End,” is the number one most added song to secondary market radio according to New Music Weekly. “Embrace” (Ember’s debut CD VSR/EMI/CMG) was released on April 20th this year followed by a featured music video for the single. It’s no surprise that since Ember signed their record deal in December of 2009 that things have been “full speed ahead.”

Ember // MySpace

The Minor Prophets have come to Rock. Four guys, with a passion for Rock & Roll. All of which believe in the people who still support good indie rock!!!

“We want to try something new this time,” says Everyday Tragedy singer Greg Tragedy. “We hear the latest trends and we just don’t want to conform to that sound, we want to push through this phase in music history and come out on top.” And pushing through is exactly what rock act Everyday Tragedy has been doing since day one. The band toured nationally for the duration of 2008, building stages for the Vans Warped tour to earn a slot on the roster, and selling their debut LP artist to fan, face to face.

Friday, October 29th - Somebody’s Darling, Devin Williams Band opening

Somebody’s Darling

“If anyone asked me for a recommendation of a current musician or a band that best personifies what I like best about Texas music I would hand them a copy of Dallas’ Somebody’s Darling self-titled release. Gritty, balls-to-the-wall rock, not the anemic variety seeping from mainstream country station over the last decade from execs that think Creed is rad, but the kind of Lynyrd Skynyrd or Charlie Daniels (listen to the fiddle-banjo fueled barn-blazer Another Two Step to fetch a hankering for ‘shine and a bar fight) meets Replacement” – TWANG NATION

The driving force behind Houston Marchman is his ability to translate real life into music. Marchman spent his formative years soaking up the sights and sounds of America’s heartland. Marchman received his first guitar at the age of 5. Influenced by his musical grandfather and poetic grandmother, he wrote his first song at the age of 13. Today he continues to produce music both poetically humble and musically complex, creating music that honestly and vividly portrays life mixing the sounds of country, Texas folk, polka, conjunto and blues.

Led by frontman Micky Braun and his guitarist brother Gary Braun, Micky & the Motorcars is self-described as “a little rough around the edges.” Maybe that’s what makes them so amazing.
Twicebroken

Exploding onto the scene in early 2007, Twicebroken has since been burning up the road with non-stop shows and writing furiously for their first full length record. (Slated for a febuary 2010 release) When asked to describe where they come from musically you will hear five completely different answers, from the five very different members. Collectively however you will find but one. Powerful music, fueled by high octane guitar riffs, high energy head banging beats, with gripping melodies and lyrics that bring it all together, and a live show that will leave you begging for more.

Twicebroken - MySpace - Twitter - Facebook

Squint

Originating in the icy tundra of the beautiful and remote Upper Peninsula of Michigan, squint has always been a band focused on gathering experiences to write about. They packed up and moved to Louisiana after high school so that they could play more cities and see new places. Their incessant touring has consistently interfered with love, however, and helped the band become deadly-accurate portrait artists of broken relationships. Strong as their passion for writing music may be, they are a band ultimately devoted to the live performance…..

A Formal Affair

A Formal Affair is a breath of fresh air in today’s music scene. The quartet features Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Keys, overlayed with powerful vocals and sincere lyrics. Their original material mixed with a wide array of covers make for a live show deserving of the buzz this band has created. With the bands first EP, “When Words Fail” gaining popularity with college crowds everywhere, and a much anticipated full length album already being recorded, A Formal Affair is definitely a band to keep your eye on.

A Formal Affair - MySpace

Paul Renna

Paul Renna is a visionary singer-songwriter with the extraordinary ability to raise hidden emotions in his listeners. Paul Renna’s music surreptitiously forces feelings of love, longing, heartache and happiness; from the depths of even the most hard-edged listeners. During the course of every song on his latest release, Freedom, Renna narrates journeys of the heart and soul that inevitably lead to freedom from the paralyzing effects of half-lived lives that ignore the beauty and wonder of the world around us.

Renna’s rich, melodious voice is colored with shades of Chris Robinson and Paul Rodgers, tempered with a soulful delivery akin to Otis Redding or Stevie Wonder, and coursing with the power of a chorus of thousands. Freedom blends Renna’s passionate vocals with a wall of electric and acoustic guitars, body-moving basslines and drums, gorgeous female backing vocals, and occasional splashes of horns and keyboards, unveiling an album of unparalleled emotional depth.

Whether performing in an electric or an acoustic setting, Paul Renna consistently proves himself to be a paragon of honesty onstage—and that raw honesty shines through on every track of Freedom as well as his other music endevours.

The band members are fiercely commited to the music, and are constantly pushing their limits to better themselves, and the band as a whole. They are experienced musicians that combine their unique influences and styles to bring each of their songs together. Growing up in the coffee houses of the Boston folk scene, Sean watched his parents playing songs written by Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, David Wilcox, Shawn Colvin, Harry Chapin, CSNY, James Taylor and others of the like. Unknown to himself or his parents, Sean was soaking it all in and locking it away somewhere inside.
